Har lite problem med følgende oppgave:
2(x-1) = 1/3(x-3)
brøk regning og likninger

2(x - 1) = 1/[3(x - 3)]
6(x - 1)(x - 3) = 1 (Ganger med 3(x - 3) på begge sider)
6(x[sup]2[/sup] - 4x + 3) = 1
6x[sup]2[/sup] - 24x + 18 = 1
6x[sup]2[/sup] - 24x + 17 = 0
x = [-(-24) ± [rot][/rot]d] / (2*6) = 2 ± ([rot][/rot]d)/12
der d = (-24)[sup]2[/sup] - 4*6*17 = 576 - 408 = 168 = 4*42. Altså blir
x = 2 ± ([rot][/rot]42)/6.
